Pause or Wait for Phone Number

What you are referring to is a "hard pause", where the phone waits for a keypress before continuing. As far as I know, the iPhone does not currently have this. However, the "soft pause" you get by entering a comma (about 2 seconds) does not start until after the called phone answers - so many people have found that it works well where the "hard pause" was needed before.

On your other issue, I am having the exact same problem! Any number with a pause entered will not dial.

Called support, no immediate answer but they are supposed to call me back after they speak with engineering.

I then started playing around with the contact some more...

It was (XXX) XXX-XXXX ,203 and it wouldn't dial. But without the extension and pause it did dial. I changed it to (XXX) XXX-XXXX ,2 and it dialed! Then I tried (XXX) XXX-XXXX ,20 and it still dialed. Finally (XXX) XXX-XXXX ,203 and it still worked. It dialed the extension and everything.

Then I deleted the number completely and re-entered it, with the pause and the extension and now it works fine! This contact was imported from MobileMe, so I am wondering if re-entering it directly on the phone might have fixed some invisible glitch in the number?

I have the same exact problem, its a real pain. Grumpy_3G did you resolve it somehow? I tried manually entering, importing, using just 1 extension digit etc; the thing just refuses to dial. Are you still stuck?

I have been having same issue with s/w 2.0. Which did not exist in prior s/w versions.

With one contact I deleted the number from the mobile field, then re-interred number-pause-number-pause-number manually in another (in this case the work field) phone field, and the phone dialed successfully.

This may be a work around, but what a pia.

I have the same problem. Even entering the number directly on the phone does not dial it.
