This is getting REALLY old, you guys.
As I've already explained to "B1indSide," there's a reason why iTunes keeps duplicate copies of updated apps. It's so that if the developer changes something dramatically, we always have the option of reverting to a previous version.
*ITUNES DOES NOT SYNC MULTIPLE COPIES OF ANY APP TO YOUR IPHONE. PERIOD!!!!!!!*
How do I know this? Because I've got more than $200 worth of apps installed on my phone, two of which are well over 100MB in size, and both of which have been updated at least once. If your supposition were accurate, I would have 200MB of space unaccounted for, but I do not. If that weren't enough, I have examined every one of my application folders in /var/mobile/Applications and can absolutely verify that there are not multiple copies/versions of ANY app installed. Finally, as I've been typing this message I've actually been updating Cro-Mag Rally, and it just finished - my "Other" space and my "Free" space are the same now as they were when the update started, despite the fact that Cro-Mag Rally is a 58MB app.
So please, do us ALL a HUGE favor and stop posting this misleading information. It is a disservice to the people on the boards, and getting people's hopes up for no real reason whatsoever is just downright cruel. This problem has only ONE guaranteed solution at this time, but it is not sanctioned by Apple. Therefore, if you absolutely must have more than 10-20 apps installed, the ONLY thing you can do is hope that Apple addresses the issue at some point in time.
