Remote app can't connect to my iTunes library

I'm running iTunes 7.7 on my Windows XP Pro SP3 PC. I'm using Windows firewall and I connect to my wireless network via a US Robotics DSL modem/router. I installed the 2.0 firmware upgrade on my iPod touch and installed the Remote app.

When I try to connect my iPod to iTunes as a remote, iTunes finds the iPod as a device and the iPod gives me the 4-digit code to enter. I enter the code on iTunes. I get the "Verifying Remote passcode" message in iTunes, and then... nothing happens.

I tried switching off the firewall, connecting the PC to the network using WAN and/or LAN, restarting the PC and iPod and still the same results.

Could anyone help me with this? I'd appreciate it.

PC, Windows XP Pro, winxp pro sp3
