Cannot connect to iTunes music store

for over a week now i have not been able to get to the music store, as it loads it comes up with a sign that says "iTunes could not connect to the music store. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."

I have an active internet connection! i tried all the things apple online support sugessted, none of it worked. then i went to my local apple store they were rude and didnt help me, then i called phone tech support thinking i would have one free call before i would have to pay 50 dollars, but apartely your one free call expires a month after you buy your ipod. so i have no other options unless i want to pay 50 bucks.... does anyone have any advice.

apple company is mean.

I have not been able to connect to the music store for several months now. I have McAfee and have disabled the firewall. Not sure if there are other firewalls keeping me from accessing music store. I was able to access the music store for well over a year, then suddenly it just stays "accessing music store" forever. I never get an error message.

thank you so much for the information in your message. Last week I switched from msn dialup to dsl service. Subsequently, I ould not access the itunes music store. I spent hours crawling the internet looking for a solution. I tried everything I came across. I finally found the solution: when I switched to dsl, I noticed that I could access the net thru Mozilla, but I could not access the net thru IE. When I first noticed this problem, I did not pay it any mind, because I preferred the Mozilla interface. I didn't know that IE was such an intrinsic part of accessing the itunes musicstore until I read your message. Then I realized that I had to get IE to work on my computer. Here is what I did:

Tools
Internet Options
Connections
--cleared out any reference to the dial-up settings
LAN Settings
Auto detect settings
OK

After I did this itunes musicstore FINALLY worked.

Thank so much!
