Howto get 1080p on SAMSUNG LCD TV

Hallo,

on my MacMini I only get the 1080i Resolution in the display preferences. How I can
get the 1080p entry? Is this a bug in Leopard? Is it possible to make a entry in a configuration file to get it work?

Regards

Jürgen

On my mini I see an option 1920x1080, without the "interlaced". Your settings result in losing some of my screen e.g. my menu bar.

I'm surprised that straight 1920x1080, with no osx-overscan, and with "Just Scan" on the tv, does not do it. Logically sure sounds like it should. I originally expected quite sharp text & to use the (DLP) TV as a monitor. No luck, sigh.

Have a Samsung UN55B7000 (1080p capable) connected on HDMI1 with Mac Mini using DVI/HDMI cable (from monoprice.com) in 16:9 format and get black border around the screen, regardless of which 1920x1080 setting I select from the Mac Display Menu (show 10 setting). If I change the Mac option to Overscan and TV to Fit Wide, then it takes up the full screen ... but seems to be 1080i resolution (due to Overscan option on Mac I assume). Is there anyway to get to 1080p from Mac Mini? Suggestions?
