Are you going to be using this in STP? Have you tried the de-esser that comes with STP? I can usually make that work.

In general Waves plugins are excellent, and you pay a premium for that. The Massey de-esser is only for ProTools, so if you're going to use this in STP, that won't work for you.

I've also heard great things about eiosis, although I haven't used it personally.

Hi guys

Thanx for your help

Never occured to me that STP has a De-Esser? But how bout Final Cut 5.1? I'll open it and see - that sure would be terific if it's there and functional.

I wondered about Massey and the others - they're all plug in's but they're not clear for which programs they all work in? No I don't have Pro Tools ...

I'll open my STP and see if it's there? Hey how bout extra audio plug in's for the audio sections right in FCP? Any available for it?

Thanx Guys
Mike

Hey barreltone
Hey Jim

How yas doin?

I'm not sure if I have this right? BTW- I have FCP 5.1
Does STP within 5.1 specifically have a De-Esser?

This is all I could find;

Maybe I need to either upgrade to FCP 6, or get a copy of Pro Tools?

OR

Does Massey work in Pro Logic? Maybe I should skip Pro Tools and just get Pro Logic?

What do you guys think?

I have Effects>Specialized>De-Esser
!http://www.rdiv.com/screenshots/STP_de-esser.jpg!

The left hand detect settings control how the plug-in triggers, the right hand section controls how it reacts to triggers.

As to Logic vs Protools, it depends on what you're doing. If i was strictly composing music I'd look at Logic, if I was strictly doing audio post i'd prefer protools.

But i doubt I'd look at either of them just to acquire a good de-esser.
