I have a first gen iPhone, that I upgraded to the 2.0 firmware the day it came out. Everything was working fine. I didn't load music onto it immediately, since I cannot use the iPhone headphones and I needed to get an adaptor to use my own headphones. I finally got one last week, and loaded music onto the iPhone. I was very happy. Then early this week, I started getting an error message stating "the application MDCrashReportTool quit unexpectedly". When this started happening, my music stopped syncing and was removed from the iPhone. Based on information I got in another topic, I restored the iPhone. I no longer get the error message, which is good. However, I still cannot sync music to the iPhone. Everything else is syncing with no problem. I have tried unchecking all of the other sync options, so that Music is the only thing syncing, but still no go.
Starting having the same problem yesterday morning. When I tried to sync the phone in the morning, it synced and deleted music. I've restored and resynced but still no music. I've even tried making another playlist to sync to iPhone with no luck.
I found out that I can drag music from my library to the iPhone. While this puts music on the iPhone, it still will not sync playlists. So I found a way to put music on it, it still is not working properly.
I can sync it manually if I drag and drop songs but that is the only way it wont automatically sync anything. Im guessing this is a bug with either iTunes of the iPhone software which I dont know.
I've just purchased an iPhone 3G and am having the same issues. No music is syncing to the iPhone. No playlists are syncing, but I can manually drag music onto the iPhone.
What is going on here?
I installed the 2.01 firmware update before doing anything else. I then restored the iPhone to try to sort out the syncing problem. No change.
I have the iPod Touch and have had no issues with that
