Not receiving SafePass text message from BofA

I am trying to enable my new 3G iPhone to receive the Safe Pass code text message from Bank of America but it doesn't work. I spoke with BOFA and they were no help. Any tips, settings on phone or services from ATT required to make this work? Are the texts SMS or MMS from BOFA? If MMS, how do I enable MMS for the iPhone sim?

I kept pushing Bank of America and finally got it resolved. Ask to speak to someone in the Client Escalation Unit. I got a call from a tech who needed the SMS/email address for the phone - phonenumber@txt.att.net. She said give us a few days and see what happens. I tested it this morning - twice - and received the SafePass codes.

FWIW, she told me they are having a lot of problems with iPhone users. But the bottom line is that it's B of A's problem, not AT&T or the iPhone.

I, too, am having this problem. I ported my number from T-Mobile about 45 days ago and have not been able to use SafePass since. I tried texting HELP to the number listed before to no avail.

I just got off the phone with a BofA rep who seemed to know exactly what I was talking about. When I said that I'd read about this problem affecting many iPhone users he said "Ohhh yes..." and told me that he could help me and that I did not have to speak to anyone in the Escalation Department. My excitement at this point was palpable. He disabled SafePass on my account and told me to log back in and re-register the phone and that all would be well.

It's been 20 minutes and no code. I am gutted. Bottom line -- do not settle, like I did, for anything less than speaking to the Client Escalation Department. Time to give it another shot...

All,
I have been following this thread for some time and wanted to offer what worked for me.
First, I am a former Verizon customer, and I ported my number over to an AT&T account. The account is under my fiance's name - that is key and I will explain later.
So, I logged in to the Manage My Account feature and made the following changes:
1. Changed my phone/device type. Even though I knew I had an iPhone 3G, apparently AT&T did not.
2. In My Profile, I clicked on the User Information tab, selected my phone number from the drop down, and changed the Primary User information to my name, email, etc. Then Save Changes.

It took a second for the web interface to refresh to show my name associated with my number.
After that, I went back to BoA and tried to setup SafePass with my iPhone. It worked perfectly - the text came about 40 seconds after clicking to send it to me.
Hope this info helps people. I have read elsewhere on the web that simply changing your name in My Profile kicks off a whole bunch of "refreshes" to ensure that your phone is working properly. Including with AT&T wifi via Starbucks.

Funny you mention this - I just had a similar experience. Long story short... I was playing with the SIM PIN and managed to lock the SIM. After going on AT&T's site to retrieve the PUK code, the phone re-registered on the AT&T network and now I receive SafePass codes immediately. Obviously I don't recommend this course of action to fix the SafePass issue, but it was a welcome side effect.

<BUMP> I am happy to find this thread because I spent hours on the phone today with AT&T, Apple, and Bank of America. I can confirm that all other 3rd party SMS texts work from services like AmEx, Google, Away Find, ReQall, etc. So it definitely sounds like a Bank of America issue.

I did have it working great on my old Sprint phone but I became reliant on it to pay bills via large transfer (SafePass is required for xfers over 1K). Now I cannot pay my bills and it's really upsetting me and people I owe money too!

Any updates on getting this resolved? I contacted the Escalation Dept at BoA but they have not gotten back to me. If I hear anything, I'll post it.
