I have the same problem right now on my first generation iPhone running the latest update.
The email is only on one of my three email accounts. It always shows the current time and says "no content" and "no sender." I cannot delete it.
Since this started, my battery drain has been tremendous. For the first time in over a year, my phone died mid-afternoon (and I wasn't using it much at all.)
I recently added a couple of games. So I'm going on the assumption that they may be related. I'm going to remove those games and see if the problem goes away.
It looks very much like some kind of email bug or virus.
Do you see the email with no subject in other email clients? So since you have a PC, does it show up in Outlook Express?
Do you see the email in web email access?
If you haven't already try deleting the email account from the iPhone and then adding it again. You can also try restoring the iPhone.

Mine is slightly different, I downloaded my POP3 messages via 3G and then had 3 messages download with (No Sender), (No Subject) and when you open the message you get "This Message has no content"
What I think happened is that while the mailbox was synchronizing the 3G signal was lost as I was on a moving train, so it downloaded the headers but then lost the content of the message.
I can't seem to get the phone to reload those messages even with a decent 3G or Wifi signal as it believes it has already done it.
What I just did however is disabled the phones ability to delete messages off the server, then deleted the 3 empty messages, then resynced and it seems to have brought down 2 of the emails dated yesterday but one is missing so not sure what happened to that.
So the cause of my issue may be the same for you.... if so only download messages when in a good signal area!
I am currently experiencing the exact same issue on my iPhone 3G 8GB. This impossible to delete and mysterious E-Mail.
It displays (No Sender) and (No Subject). The time is the current time I am viewing it, it is always new. There is no body in the email. If I try to reply or forward Mail.app crashes. I have tried countless suggestions to get this to this, and so far nothing has been successful.
I called Apples support line, and they told me they haven't heard of this issue, had me reset my settings, that didn't work. I also deleted and recreated the account many times, that also didn't work.
Any help regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.
I am having the same problem with my PowerBook G4. I've received 3-4 of the 'no sender, no subject' emails. I haven't even tried to delete them because I was afraid even to do that. It never occurred to me that the issue I was having with my relatively new battery - draining in 20 minutes or less - could have anything to do with this email situation. I will keep checking back to see if anyone has any ideas. I'm glad it's up for discussion anyway. Maybe Apple is checking into it. I look forward to hearing more (I hope).
I've got a 2G iPhone and here's what's going on with my mobile mail app:
1) On Friday the 13th, I'd noticed that my iPhone lost it's charge in only a few hours... I didn't think anything to wierd about it.
2) I recharged my iPhone, and as soon as it finished charging, I noticed that my Mail app was showing that I had about 3000 unread messages... very strange since I normally have about 20-40 unread messages.
3) I have 3 e-mail accounts on my device, one a work account(exchange), and two gmail accounts. One of those gmail accounts was showing something like 2900 unread messages... very odd.
4) I opened the in box for that account, and poof, app crashed.
5) I rebooted the device (hard reset), and was able to open the in box for that bad account. In there I saw a message with the no subject no sender symptom.
6) Now comes the wierd part... all the messages below that bad message were duplicates of each other... so let's say the next message was "Hi" from email@example.com, that message was repeated hundreds of times, and so forth.
7) At the same time I noticed that the app was continually trying to get more mail from the server, and what it appeared to have been doing is getting the same messages and putting them in the in box list.
8) I tried deleting the account, re-adding it, but the duplicate messages, and the no subject/no sender message would keep coming back. I assume thats why my battery kept discharging, since it's been continually trying to get the messages.
I haven't done a restore yet, because I wanted to save the failure information for the de-bug folks at Apple.
I have the same problem and am posting because if enough people say something Apple might fix it.
I assumed it is a MobileMe quirk. Now after reading the post I hope it is not a virus or Trojan Horse or something else nefarious.
In mail I get a completely blank email with a blank sender, topic and text.
On the iPhone, I get an email with "no sender" in the from and "no subject" in the subject. It also says "no content".
