trying to print on dvd with discus software?

trying to print on dvd with discus software?

i am using the discus software recommended by Old Toad here. i feel like i have the settings right - 80 mm, etc. but the disk missed the middle of the dvd completely and the whole picture is off center.
what am i doing wrong?

Are you printing to the media (I normally print 2 at a time) BEFORE burning thru iDvd'08?

Sometimes the first one is a coaster if the printer was not already primed for printing.

i am printing from some software called Discus for labels only. i bought office depot brand which is not listed in the layouts and i am not sure about the inner and outer diameter. i may just buy a verbatim brand or one that is listed in the layouts.

suggestion: use printable dvd-r white surface (verbatim is a great choice).

i am using white printable dvd-r(s)
but they are 'office depot' brand - which is not listed on the layout picks.
and i don't know the specific inner and outer dimensions.

just wondering if another brand which is listed in the layout picks, would work.

The software should have x,y adjustments you can make to center the printed image.

(I don't use Discus but the Epson Print CD software I use has such an adjustment.)

Page 10 of the manual I just downloaded says: Click on arrow buttons to nudge printout, so yes, Discus gives you x, y position adjustment of the printout.

I too use Epson. One cause of badly off center printing (too far off for the adjustments) is the wrong paper size or orientation.

thx shippey but it is much more than just a nudge.
my latest try just showed me a sliver of the image i am using.
i am using an hp photosmart 5360 printer
it came with labeling software that is not compatible with my mac.

don't know what to do next.

As I mentioned in the other thread what are the settings in the print window? What paper size do you set and then what Preset is used. Although I an using a different printer I have to select A paper before the CD/DVD preset is available to be selected. There may be some association between the paper size selected and the photo missing the disk.
