impossible to open a .rcproject file

Hi, this is my first post here, hoping to find a solution to my problem. I accidentally moved an imovie project with .rcproject extention from the imovie folder and just can't get it back into the folder or open it clicking on the file. I've tried to import the file (I put it on the desktop and also in documents)but no way...it remains where it is. Clicking on it, imovie opens but not the project. Can anybody help me?
thanks

Other than possible scaled "still frame" images, iMovie '08 project files do not contain multimedia content -- just pointers to the source files and a set of instructions describing how to export the current project "pseudo-timeline" -- thus, there is nothing to "import" here.

Clicking on it, imovie opens but not the project.
Moving the project file from its original location has "orphaned" the pointers to all source content external to the project file and so the application cannot "find" the proper files to load.

Why can't you replace it? Did you try closing the application, moving the file back to the "iMovie Projects" folder, and then reopening the application?
