Ipod Touch Stuck on Apple logo

My ipod got stuck on the apple logo, i've tried resetting it like 12 times, then I connected to the computer, it reads it but then itunes gets frozen, and its still stuck on the same screen.

First, until Apple sorts this out DO NOT UPDATE APPS ON YOUR IPOD TOUCH, instead click on applications in itunes. At the bottom there will be a message about updates available, click there and update from that screen if you wish.

If you're stuck on the Apple logo and it's not being recognized as a device in itunes. TRY THIS.
1. Leave your touch connected to the computer
2. Hold sleep and hold buttons until screen blanks and then logo reappears.
DO NOT LET GO OF HOME BUTTON
3. Release sleep button and keep holding the home button, after up to 30 seconds you should see the itunes logo and a picture of the connector cord and plug.
4. Itunes should now offer to restore your ipod touch.

Hope this helps.

THanks man.

THat is what i had to do.. My crashed two times today.. With the apple logo of death. It didn't matter what I pushed on the touch..it kept coming back. Finally, when I pushed and held the home and power button screen it would would go black.

When it came back on by pushing power button.. the logo was again there and would not go away.

I used the idea memtioned my the previous post. FInally got it to restore. First time I have had to do that in forever. Can't remember when. I also did a system restore (Window 98 Dell system restore to a couple of days ago.. I also deleted all .. ALL of my apps and am putting them back on one at a time. THen testing it.. and after a while adding another. I am only up to 4 apps. and before I had around 20.. So I know it will take a while. I am in no hurry. Each restore took about two hours.(the first time I didn't delete the apps and it didn't work). All in all... it was a killer. I just hope it works long term.

GOod luck to everyone else.

When installing my apps after restoring my Touch (for the 3rd time...), I found that the first apps did install much quicker than the later ones. With about 10-20 apps installed it takes REALY long to get another one installed.
Because the Touch crashed again on me, I now have just installed about 16 apps and the touch is running fine for about three days now. Maybe its because of the number of apps installed - or maybe one of the previous installed apps wich I left out now were buggy...
Are your apps installing slower with multiple apps already installed too?

Ok this happened to me many times also, but I took the advice given by everyone and it worked great for a long long time. Then I did something, I downloading lots(around 10) of apps in bulk (usual i get them 1 by 1) and then i tried to sync my iTouch, but it froze halfway through so I had to redo this process of restoring and stuff and the whole time i was just clicking around itunes and using my itouch to make sure nothing bad happened while i was watching it, and then i worked fine and has for about 3 hours (but i had it goin for like 3 weeks before) so try this, and don't download in bulk. Trust me.

Yagata! YESS! That did the trick! IT WORKED!!!!

My iPod Touch (16 GB) would not show up on iTunes or even the Desktop. I went so far as deleting my apps, reloading my itune, holding down the home button and power button at the same time and still nothing. I just got the black screen with the apple on my iPod. Sooooo.... I did what Miahcel had said and I waited a while and finally.... My iTunes recognized my iPod and I was able to restore. It took me 19 hours to finally get This far. I feel pathetic! How can something so simple be the solution? Well anyway.. it does make a difference when you hold the home button down and then plug it to your computer while still holding the button down. That was the key that got my iTunes to acknowledge my iPod for restoration.

Thank you Michael!!!
Your wisdom is AWESOME!!!
