Rare but extremely annoying glitch

I've spoken to APPLECARE and the Genius Bar about this problem, as well as tried out many different phones with the new software on it - and it's a software glitch. They told me that the developers monitor this board, and that this is the best way to communicate problems.
Bring up any text screen, and type the word "Damiera". You will find that you cannot type the letter R after E. No matter what you do, when you type the word "Damiera" you can't even get the keyboard to recognize there is an R on the keyboard. I've even tried holding my finger on the screen, and sliding over the R over and over.. it goes directly from T to E, skipping R all together. Anyone reading this , try it - and see that it actually is a glitch. I have not found a word other than DAMIERA that this glitch appears on though... any usual combination of the IERA seems to work fine, but this is specifically frustrating for me as that is the name of my business 🙂

P.S. !!
I was posting this ON my iPhone when it , yet again, crashed safari. I don't overtax the device in any way, other than try to post on APPLE'S site, in order to address a very annoying glitch -- and the phone crashes again. I know it isn't just my phone, because i've heard nothing but complaints as to how glitchy the 3g actually is... i'm extremely disappointed in the iphone 3g. It shouldn't process slow, freeze or crash every single time I go to use it. Its very discouraging. I do hope these very obvious problems are addressed with future updates, as this device was intended to make the day easier - not more frustrating.

An easy fix would be to disable that feature when the first letter is capitalized at least. Wouldn't fix all the problems but would help and at least if you wanted to use your proper noun you could do so easily without using backspace. And for sesame- just change the proper spelling of it to sessme. Sounds the same to me really, but sessme buns has a better ring to it =)

Nope, indeed not -- good spot. Well, this is getting fun. If you're all up for it, continue finding words that the iPhone won't you type and we'll compile a list of them which we'll publish on Mobile Computer. I found 'sesame' while trying to search for Sesame Street videos for my young son. We've now updated on our original piece with this word but keep them coming...

Scott.

most of the people in the genius bar are completly lost when it comes to the iphone. In less the issue is completely obvious like wont power on, they have no clue. YOu would be better off to call apple support, at least that way the complaint gets addressed. It was the same thing with the bluetooth, the mac genius's couldnt even figure out how to hook up a motorolla bluetooth, kept telling people it was issues with there headsets and it ended up just being a softwere update.

Try removing the clear screen shield off of your phone.Unless you have that 14.00 one the apple carries you might be having problems, because of the sticky stuff alot of screensavers use to hold it on the phone. i was having problems with mine till i switched screen protectors.apples screen works off heat from your skin, the glue might be affecting how your screen works

It is not a screen shield issue. We have confirmed this issue on a number of iPhones now. It's not a big deal but it is a little software hiccup. It is impossible, for instance, to type in full the word 'sesame' into predictive-text box without having to backspace -- despite the fact that the iPhone's predictive-text system knows the word 'sesame'.
