question about invisibleShield

Ok so I was looking at the Zagg Invisible Shield and it looks legit! One question, so if I get the one that is full body coverage, is the InvisibleShield just like a film that I put on the front and the back? I was looking at an iSkin case for my iPhone, and am wondering if I get the Invisible Shield one that is full body coverage, should I still put the phone in a case, or should I only get the InvisibleShield for *Front Coverage* and then use the case with that?

The invisible shield (full body) will protect the phone from scratches, etc. I suppose it will also protect it a little bit if you drop the phone, but a case would offer more protection from dropping it than the film. If you're concerned mainly about scratches, invisible shield is all you need. If you're worried about dropping it, adding a case would be better.

Also if you really like how slim the phone is, adding a case takes away from that - some more than others.

I would encourage you to look at Case-Mate's product also.

You can see it on www.case-mate.com I think their version is cheaper and uses the same film.

I have the Zagg product and had to have it replaced because the first version for the 3G was cut wrong. I have the Zagg on my screen though and it's terrific!

I still use a case on top of it. The 3M skin won't prevent impact / shock damage, at least I don't think so.

I got the iSkin Revo2 case after installing the full IS. IS is great, but doesn't afford much impact protection against screen or case cracking. There are no incompatibilities with the IS as there can be with hard polycarbonate cases. If you're going to leave the phone in the iSkin case all the time, the back IS coating isn't necessary. The front IS is far superior to the screen protector supplied with the case, and recommend you use it instead.

I do take the iPhone out of my Revo2 to use in a Belkin armband, so I find the back IS useful. It is difficult to install correctly and there is a steep learning curve...

I had the invisibleShield on the screen of my 3G for a couple of days but ended up taking it off. The material had too much of a "tacky" feel to it (although it isn't) for me. When I would glide my finger over the screen with the shield on it just didn't feel right. If you don't mind that feel, this is an excellent screen protector. My buddy has the Ghost Armor on his 3G and it feels much better to me, more like the glass surface.

The slight tacky feeling goes away after a few weeks of curing and everyday use. Most people underestimate the amount of time the InvisibleShield needs to fully set itself and bond properly. But once it is.... you can't beat the looks, feel, or protection.

For example, I had like almost a dozen air bubbles on the back side during the first few days. Looked terrible and was about to give up on it and request a new one. At around 2 weeks time, only had 5 bubbles. Thought this was the best it could do, I could live with 5. Currently i literally only see 2 bubbles now. The polyurethane film takes some time to "heal itself."

The tacky feel is great for the back because it greatly improves your grip on the phone. But like i said earlier, after a few weeks of use, the tackiness pretty much goes away for both front and back. Honestly, I can't expect it to be any smoother than it is now.. it feels like it's not even there. Obviously no product in existence can match the silky smooth surface of a new naked iphone. I like the feel of the iphone with the shield on. Feels like it's firmly in my grip, no matter how I pick up or hold it. A naked iphone always felt like it was gonna slip out of my hands at any moment.

Meanwhile, what do you guys think of this?

Thin hard polycarbonate cases without internal cushioning offer relatively little impact protection. The impact shock is transferred directly to the phone shell which can crack. The case prevents scratches on the phone, but the case itself scratches just as easily. Also, the case can scratch the phone when putting it on or removing it if it doesn't fit perfectly. The IS and other polyurethane films don't give impact protection, but they don't scratch or scratch the phone
