question about invisibleShield

Ok so I was looking at the Zagg Invisible Shield and it looks legit! One question, so if I get the one that is full body coverage, is the InvisibleShield just like a film that I put on the front and the back? I was looking at an iSkin case for my iPhone, and am wondering if I get the Invisible Shield one that is full body coverage, should I still put the phone in a case, or should I only get the InvisibleShield for *Front Coverage* and then use the case with that?

Not sure about that since it's not clear what's causing those. Those posting about them claim they aren't dropping or abusing the phone. If it's due to defective material or manufacturing, obviously a case won't help. However, the IS film may make them less noticeable as it tends to cover and fill in small pre-existing scratches. Making the cracks less visible may not be a good thing as they can expand slowly. Better to get the phone replaced early.

You'd have to contact Apple to get authorization, but I'm not sure of the process since I've never done that. I know they prefer you getting a Genius appointment at the Apple store. I strongly recommend getting AppleCare.

I get the impression you don't have the cracks now. From the reports I've read, these hairline cracks show up early, if not present when purchased. If you've had the phone a while, you're probably OK with that.

Unless you (and your friends) are obsessively careful with phones, and have no tendency to drop things (certainly not me when is was in school...) - get the IS and case anyway.

installing the back is real pain in the A... from what i read and what i heard...
its front cover got a bit of texture like an Orange skin "the fruit, yes"...
if u really take care of the device try the Power Support ones that's on the Apple store, the Crystal Clear one is 100% invisible...

but let us know what goes with you and the IS 🙂

oh and here is the Topic i started about all these film screen protectors, if u r interested with having a look: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1603255&tstart=0

I really love it when someone offers opinions and advice about something they've never seen or used themselves - "from what I read"....

The Crystal Clear is more invisible, but doesn't stay that way - you have to keep replacing it. It also shows fingerprints at least as bad as the naked screen. Watch what happens to it when you firmly scrape a sharp key across the screen - careful not to cut too deep! You can do that all day with IS without blemishing it, let alone the phone screen. I use IS on a scuba diving computer while cave diving and whacking it against rocks - only the case that isn't covered gets scratched

I don't think i am buying the iPhone and the screen protector for scratching it with a key all day long, who is that moron who will do that!!!

I do take a very good care with these devices, i never had any scratch on any devices i owned!! but i want the screen protector for just more protection since the iPhone is just a "screen"...

i am just giving my opinion in this, do u think i care if any bought this or that!!
i won't be near rocks thank god so i don't need the IS!!

and at the end it is my opinion if i saw it or not it is not ur business 🙂

go buy the IS for your iPhone, install the front and back, the front is piece a cake with any film, but install the back on it and post us your pictures so we can see how easy that is 🙂

Great! If you take perfect care of your iPhone - never, never drop it, never accidentally put it in a pocket with keys or coins, then you don't need any protection at all. If you read all the posts complaining about scratched cases and screens, you'll realize that protection is needed for many if not most.

I've already bought and installed IS - that's why I can discuss it based on actual experience, and have a real opinion. I've also used the Power Support films and I know what they do and don't do (the Anti-Glare is better). Simply repeating what you think you read or heard about someone else's experience isn't stating your opinion - it's spreading a rumor...

Sorry, I didn't film the the event for you. The back peace isn't easy, but doable. There are people who complain about it being too difficult for them - there are also many who think tying a necktie is beyond them. (If there are any tie support forums, I'm sure there are plenty of post ranting about how unreasonably hard it is to use them.)

I have had IS installed in-store (at HQ in SLC Utah) for my first iPod 30gb, nano, cannon sd400, and my LG chocolate and I absolutely love the product. It lives up to it's reputation. I however don't think I will shield my 3G for a few reasons. Firstly, I have gone through three 3G's so far. Cracks appearing on case, recessed sleep button, and one misaligned bezel. I just don't want to go through the hassle of peeling it off and sending it in for a replacement each time I have to have Apple swap out my handset (I wouldn't be shocked to see cracks developing any day now but thats another thread). Secondly, the shield WILL start un-stick around the edges of the application, and then dust and skin oils will work their way under and begin to look ragged. It takes a while for this to happen but that's what my LG did.

I installed the Invisible Shield on my 3G. It does not cover the silver band around the edge. The front turned out alright and I'm pleased with the results but the back was a devil to get on correctly. It's on but a couple corners look pretty bad. Once I find something else that goes on easier I'll replace it. The good thing is that when I peel the Invisible Shield off in a couple weeks or months, the phone will still look new.
