*82 / Contact Name Issue

I have contacts programmed in my iphone with *82 attached to thier number (so as to unblock/unprivatize my number when i call them). Why is it that when they call me, thier number shows up on my phone and not thier contact name???? I've spoken with ATT and had them do a callback with and without the *82 attached and they said it was probably an I-phone software issue. Is anyone else experiencing this who live in an area where *82 is an option?

You arn't seeing their name because the number they are calling from isn't the number you have stored.

Try this - store both their regular number and their *82 number for each contact. See if that fixes it.

Thanks Ansuz82. I've always programmmed my other cell phones with the *82 attached and the name would still come up when they call. Seems like other cell phones showed the contact name I had programmed in when they called me regardless if the *82 was attached or not. I was initially looking into your solution as a work around too! Thanks again 😉
