add backtick key to keyboard please

Good day.

Why is there a backtick key in the email keyboard
But not in any other keyboard on the iphone.

I use this key alot in passwords and limmits what i can do with the iphone big time.

backtick = `

Was there a reason for using different keyboards on the iphone?
is there away around this for the time being?

Iphone 3G, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Bump anything on this.

It totally limits what i can do on my home and work networks.

Don't understand why they would have it in one keyboard and not another.

I've wondered the same exact thing and like you, have been limited to what I can do on the phone. I've tried holding all the ascii characters on the keyboard to see what kind of alternates they produce, but alas... no backtick anywhere!

It would be pretty easy to add another layer on to the keyboard or hold down function for the "/" so it flips to "\".

It is there on mine? UK, press and hold the Apostrophe and it appears, I hope (is it not called a "grave accent").

yha i don't think its a character space issue because it is on one keyboard for the email.

Yha i have posted but have not heard anything back.

Just wired that the phone used to different keyboards layouts.

I would rather not change my wpa pass on about 8 different devices. Please add the backtick in wifi auth.
