Cannot send email - Invalid address?

I'm on the latest version of software, the phone is a G3 and I used to have to have the orginal iphone.

My problem is that when I reply to an email I receive a message stating recipient addresses was invalid. This happens on most reply's. Invalid??? The person sent me mail in the first place??????

It would appear that you need to add your username and password to the smtp settings , this started happening to me out of the blue but once I added the details to the smtp settings on the iphone it went away

I have an iphone 3g 3.0 that i use on tmobile. everything works great but i can not send email out at all unless i am on wifi.
all emails come in on edge but will not go out at all.

anyone know how to get this to work. it is driving me crazy thanks
