Question

Gamepad

Hi.

I want a gamepad to plug to my Macbook Pro and play like I used to do with a console. I though I would find gamepads available on the Apple Store but there is no one.

Can anyone suggest me nice gamepads?

The Logitech Dual Action Gamepad should be in the Apple Store.

I would recommend the Xbox 360 wired controller ($40, pretty much any electronics/video game retailer). It should work well if you have the driver (free, http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver).

As if this wasn't obvious enough, you can also use it with an Xbox 360.

I have an 08 MacBook running 10.5.5 and I tried the 360 controller with the 3rd party driver, and it doesn't work. I emailed the guy who did it and got no response. Apple Profiler says it's there, but the driver says there's no devices attached. I also tried another 3rd party driver to try and get an older USB gamepad to work, and that wouldn't work either. I've searched all over and can't find anybody who seems to have a gamepad that's guaranteed to work on an intel mac, which is kind of hard to believe. Anybody have any ideas? I just want to play some older games like F/A-18 and stuff.
