Hope it fixes the GPS and EMAIL issues. How does one back up?

MBP 2.4 Glossy, 2.4 matte, iPhone 3G (wow, what a device), Mac OS X (10.5.4), 1 BAR on 3G=139K+, 1 bar gets a bad rap!!!

Its a long install, expect with a dot dot 2 release that any changes are very low level bug fixes, as it just appeared with no warning I hope this is the 3G fix.

I'm sure someone will - mine is about done - so will report back as well as on the GPS issues.

I am still within 30 days and just hope its not a hardware problem otherwise man, that would be awful for my beloved company. Although AT&T, well, SMS should be free, that's all I'll say and I hope Infineon is not to blame.

I am one of the people with 3G problems. I just downloaded 2.0.2. Before the update, I was getting none-to-2 bars on 3G here in my home, stationary position. After the 2.0.2 I am getting nothing but a solid NO SERVICE. Hmmmmmmmmm

modem firmware went from 1.48.02 to 2.08.01

Not that my 3G seems to be any better.

Mine did the same thing. Then it "switched" on. I just powered it off and back on again. And its really, really slow to find a signal?

Still no 3G here (O2 UK) for me, got no service for a couple of mins after reboot and started to worry but now switched to GPRS at 3-4 bars (same as before). Disappointed....so unless the 3G network is down at my so called 100% coverage area then nothing has changed.

Doug, you are petty courageous.

In view of all the 3G reception issues, if I had your phones (which work), there is no way I would be one of the first to update. Indeed, I was just setting here thinking about your dilemma and what you would do when they do publish the "3G fix."

Yeah, I had rebooted as well when I first saw the NO SERVICE after the update. Same thing. However, itt is now connecting with 3G but 1 bar and that's it. Bummer.

Hey HeloCaptain,

Yes... I thought about that as well. My son said "no way" to the update! Ha! When the install finished and I unplugged my phone... I looked at the signal indicator... and it said No Service!!!!

I almost crapped my pants!

It took a moment and then my signal was back. Phew...

Since the update I've held a better 3G signal than before. The signal strength is between -95 to -103 (1 to 2 bars) but staying on 3G. Previously I was very lucky to see any 3G.

I think ATT's network is just pretty crummy in Orange County, CA. I have problems with my Blackberry Pearl keeping a signal at work or home.

in Sydney,Australia and the 3g problems are huge here on ALL networks,Optus,Vodafone and Telstra
downloading update now and hope there is a fix to the 3g issue.

on another issue,why are you unable to forward SMS messages on Iphone???????

thought this should be a feature to offer Iphone users especially those like me who have unlimited SMS usage on my plan.
