some programs I use have key commands of F1, F2, F3 etc. how do I access these buttons. I"ve tried pressing control, apple, option, and shift plus the F buttons up top and still it reponds to the other funtion of the key. Like I think F8 is volume. when I press the F8 key I want it to control F8, not the volume.

can I set it to use the F keys when I hold option or control or something? I like the funtion keys on there now, but I want easy access to the F keys also. sorry, I"m not at honme where I can hop in those settings right now to look myself
there is a little key right next to control that says fn on it which when pressed would allow use of the keys as apple had intended them to be used for such as volume and brightness and it works for the opposite to. as in to get them too work as normal function keys depending on settings
