Cracked keyboard

My macbook is coming up to 1 year old yet has cracks on the keyboard. I look after my mac very carefully, however it has 2 small cracks in the left hand corners, one diagonally by the esc button and the other diagonally by the fn button but i don't know how they appeared as I haven't dropped it?!. Also, the edging down the bottom right has started coming off, peeling i could describe it as and then in the right hand corner on the edge that edging has also come away and a crack is appearing which looks like a piece could fall off sooner rather than later. Is there anything that can be done to fix the cracks, if i take it to the apple store and take it to the technicians will they be able to fix it?

Hi Rachey.

From what I've read here, yes, they are able to replace the plate. Since your Mac is relatively new and the issue with cracking plastic on MacBooks is a known problem, I would guess that if you take it in and are polite about it, that they would help you by fixing it. Of course this will probably be at the Managers discretion, barring any signs of abuse. You should give it a try.

Good Luck!
