external BTI ipod battery ii for 5g 30gig ipod w/video!!!!!!

I am testing out the external battery with my new ipod and with a dead ipod I have been watching movies on it for 12 plus hours and it still has one light let of power. I can't believe this!!! With the 2.5 hrs from the internal battery and 12 plus hours this makes this great for long flights. I am testing now for a trip to Paris from Los Angeles which is 11 hours. I guess this will work.

Hey DC,
How does this battery fit the ipod video? I want one of these and am getting ready to buy. Does the ipod fit ok in the little holder?

The baterry fits great if you do not have a case on your ipod. It comes with different clips. The BTI ipod external 40 hr battery is awesome. I highly recommend it.

I got one at Radio Shack for about $53 and I've been playing music videos for over 5 hours (over 3-4 day period) and I still have all 4 led lights of power.

This is obviously just a plug for the battery pack from someone that doesn't know beans about an iPod. There are NOT "4 led lights of power" on an iPod...that would be an iBook or PowerBook that has the 4 led light indicator.

I sometimes take flights which last up to 20 hours...

So I have ordered a GeekPod 100 - $70 from batterygeek.net

It is a 6,000 mAH battery, 58.5×24x82(mm), weight 180g

(2.3" x 1" x 3.2", weight 0.4 lbs)

So, a bit heavy (on the seat by my side, NOT in my pocket), but has 50% more juice than the BTI.

The BTI has 4,000 mAH, -- Dimensions? Weight? Anyone?

Just looked over the two units mentioned. More than doubling the battery life for only about $17.50 does look attractive. However, does anyone yet know if they are shipping the GeekPod 100 with the compatible iPod Video cable? Can pick up th BTI model "in-store" locally and am trying to decide whether or not to go with the 100 if it is immediately available.

I think he is talking about the four leds on the battery pack. Looks just like the ibook/powerbook 4 led light indicator

Yes, I read that. Unfortunately the statement was not accompanied with any reference to the date this pronouncement was made. Just e-mailed them requesting a more concrete update on the time frame but was hoping someone here might know more or had actually received one based on a previous pre-order.

One drawback with BatteryGeek.net -- terrible communcations and support. The young fellow claims 110% support, but has great difficulty answering his emails properly (ISP problems, perhaps) and there is no phone number except the order line (3rd party service).

I own a BTI battery, but have not used it yet with my iPod 5G, 60GB. None of the clips seem to fit. The only problem with the BTI battery I have had in the past is that even if you have the clip that is designed for the size iPod you own, it can easily scratch the iPod. Do you have anything special you do to prevent this?
