Ipod "ipod is in reocvery mode, please restore to resolve" SOLVED

Hi after much messing about I have finially fixed my ipod fault. Basically it was keep coming up with the message "ipod in recovery mode, please restore" and looping. Basically this is what you do to fix it.

1.restore the ipod
2.disconnect it from PC once done.
3.Hold "menu"+"select"
4.when screen is black hold "select" and "play" buttons (which takes you into disc mode)
5.plug ipod into computer
6.Go to my computer
7.Open your ipod and drag these files into it . Dont worry no virus, just the files from a friends ipod. (5th gen)

8. once done disconnect your ipod by going to the bottom right safely remove hardware iconat the bottom right.
9. hold select and menu to boot normally and connect to pc
