Can I bookmark long mp3 files?

Just got my first iPod. (80gb Classic) I haven't found this in earlier threads. I use a lot of long files, like recorded lectures and audio book in mp3 format.
Is there any way to bookmark those files, so I can listen to something else and come back later to the same spot?

PC, Windows XP

In iTunes, highlight the track and click on *Get Info/Options* . Towards the bottom of the Options tab you will see a tick-box called *Remember playback position* , which you need to select for each track that you wish to mark.

Although this is not a "bookmark" as such, in that it will only do as it says, and then remember the new playback position when you next stop, it may be the answer to your problem. However, there is no "permanent" bookmark facility, at least, not for standard MP3 files. I don't know about audiobooks, since I have never tried them.

Note; Podcasts usually have the *Remember playback position* already on when you download them.
