gm module plugin supplied with m-audio keystudio 49i with garageband

I recently purchased the m-audio keystudio 49i keyboard and provided free with it was the GM module plugin software.
I can see the gm module plugin in garageband when creating a new software instrument but cannot get garageband to select nor to play any of the 128 sounds , can anybody help , as this is so frustrating as it appears garageband recognizes the GM module software ?

What is this "GM module"? Sounds like "General Midi" to me. If it's a multi-instrument sound bank, then GB cannot access it (like it can't access the QuickTime set of General Midi instruments).

Yes , it is a sound bank , what is confusing is garageband can see it in the software instrument screen so it appears to be a plugin , but it cannot play it...

I'm not sure about the 49i, but the 49e could access them. perhaps the similar steps work:

I can access the gm sound module and the quicktime music synth using my m-audio keystudio 49i using the instructions as described , however , as soon as I record and then playback GB fails to play the sound I used...very frustrating as the sounds appear in the software instrument section , any further advise welcome...how do I raise with Apple tech support ?

since apple doesn't read these forums, you'd have to call their tech support number (I'd caution you that they'll likely tell you that they don't do support for third party products and to talk to the manufacturer.)
