Availability in the UK?

I passed my local PC World today (I'm in Scotland) and they had shipments in. Expect them really, really, soon.. if you don't already see them.

Jamie - Where is your local PC World store? According to their website, and others of the same company (Currys, Dixons), you can only 'register' your details to be notified when they are available. I used to work for this company and not one of the employees has any idea of when they will be available.

went into the apple store in bluewater and they seemed to have loads in both colours.

Edinburgh. I haven't been in there since, so I don't know what the status is. Granted, they had them on display behind a glass case... I'm not sure whether they were on sale or not.
I would expect all retail stores to have them now... it is over a week since they started shipping.

Currys, PC World, Dixons (The Dixons Group in general), infact most British high street stores are several weeks behind in getting new items instock, unlike the American stores who get that within a few days after the Apple Store gets them.

The only exception is http://www.anvika.com>Micro Anvika who think they are the Apple Store, but do stock Apple products pretty quickly.
They have stores in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Croydon. Yes, i also wonder why Croydon...

You are quite right. The accessories then typically come a few weeks after that. I was in HMV the other day asking when they expected the Universal Dock to come in... not one of them had heard of it and they claimed it was not listed on their computer.

I have had my current HP (Windows) laptop for about 16 months now, and PC World/Dixons still have the exact same model on sale now for the same price in their 'High Performance/Entertainment' section. Ridiculous?

In light of all this, could someone post here when they see the new models up for sale in a British (non-Apple) shop?

Still not seen one anywhere, my father is sending me one from the us. I shall still keep an eye out though, I'll be needing a dock for it 🙂
