Iphone apps closes itself

having the same problem. got my iphone about 2 weeks ago and then suddenly my downloaded apps stopped working. I tried a restore but that didn't solve the problem!

I have the same problem. My apps only stay for about 3 seconds and then close. Not all the apps do this. I have tried to reinstall them by using the sync but this doesn't seem to work. Is there a solution?

My iPhone 3G started doing this last night. One moment I was playing a game of DizzyBee. Then an hour later, I picked up my phone and was suddenly unable to run any third-party apps. Not only am I unable to run are third-party downloaded apps, but my iPod music files and media are inaccessible. When I switch to iPod, it says there is no music in my library, even though when I sync my iPhone to iTunes, it shows all of those apps and music and video files on the "Summary" screen. I suspect there's some kind of authorization problem, where my iPhone seems to have been deauthorized to run any downloaded apps or music.

I am going to try to restore my iPhone, but judging from the other comments here, I'm not getting my hopes up, and am fully expecting this problem to remain unsolved until Apple releases that firmware update (sometime in September, according to the Cult of Mac blog).

Hi I tried to re install one of my games and it looked like it was going OK but then it stopped and now nothing much is happening. The phone itself is very slow to respond to anything and some apps previously OK have started having problems too. I am going to try to restore it now but this takes time!

It won't even restore now......help!

I have sorta the same problem, only this affects standard iphone apps as well. After I upgraded to 2.0.2 I am having problems with getting into Settings and Mail. This will fix itself once i restore the phone but after installing some applications and such, they will suddenly stop to work.
Is there something wrong with the how the App Store apps and the phone works together on the new firmware? Do I have to find out which app will work together with the phone? I really feel i shouldnt have to.
If someone have any suggestions to what to do i would appreciate it. I am very close to throwing this phone against the wall.

I'm going to try deauthorizing, reauthorizing, quitting and restarting iTunes, as well as singing out of and signing into the iTunes music store, then downloading an installing some free apps.

The only way mine work (apps) is if I restore as a new phone, and don't turn my phone off. I've restored my phone around 8 times in a month and got my first phone replaced. They def need to do some testing. Also they need to sync texts like they do with everything else.

Ok. Fresh restore with 2.0.2. Nothing synchronized with the phone. Disconnected the phone and went into app store on the phone. Installed Shazam. After installing it I now cannot get into Settings. It tries to get into it but blanks back to the main-screen. Unbelievable.

I have been having the same problem.

This is a serious bug.

As soon as you try to open ANY app it throws you back to the HOME screen.

I have tried everything. Nothing works. It always comes back.

Same problems with the apps only my 3G and EDGE is gone. I really don't understand why they can't send out a 2.0.3 to freaking reverse the 2.0.2... obviously the update threw everything off! It's not much fun when you can only enjoy the web stuff for two weeks. Now I feel like I'm being cheated because I signed up for this all in one phone but not really.

In fairness I have to say that after having a great deal of trouble yesterday with the apps...I left my phone on charge over night and got up to all the problems apparently resolved......fingers crossed!
