Anyone with a Logitech Squeezebox?

My question is: Will the squeezebox software's auto-wake feature that wakes a sleeping computer when music is requested for streaming be able to wake my Powerbook if it is closed or open and sleeping?

I want to purchase a squeezebox or comparable music streaming device so that I can listen to music from itunes on my home stereo. The point of getting such a device is so that I can 1) get right of the wired connection from my mac to the stereo, 2) so that I can listen to all of my music without having to have my mac open and in sight, and 3) so that I can control the song selection without using the laptop. I would just use a high capacity cd changer, but I want to have all the music from itune as well without having to burn it all.

my squeezebox3 doesn't. sorry to report that.

otherwise, it's really good and fun to use. sound quality (using apple lossless) is good, a class above the ax. on top of the ax, there are all these internet radio services incl last.fm.

connecting the ipod to the stereo is not much good. sound quality is what you would expect, worse even with the itouch compare to my ipod classic. plus the "fummeling" (i don't know how you would call that in english) with a hardware device that is not really made for stationary use. there are good docking stations (i used to have the arcam one) but why go back to cables when the entire world is moving wireless. (plus, there is an "i" in itunes; i guess c-able-tunes wouldn't really sell that well).
