How do I arrange songs in album order?

I have moved all of my songs over to my new ipod. Some of the songs in an album are in the wrong order. A bit frustrating if you're used to the album. Does anyone know how to reposition the order of the songs?

Hey, I'm having the same problem too, I'm just posting in this form because it's had some attention. In iTunes, I make sure the tracks appear in the order which they do on the album, yet they are still listed alphabetically under album on the iPod after updating. Is there something I'm missing? If so, could someone please tell me how to do it. Thanks.

Given the flexibility of iTunes in sorting, more definition about your problem is needed to avoid the "twenty questions" scenario.

However, if you have navigated to the "Artist" listing on iPod, then the individual tracks on each discrete album will be presented as the song tag data dictates. That is, if the song tag matches the album, then the iPod list will too.

But then, I'm not sure if you are looking at a playlist created during a rip, a downloaded album from iTMS, etc.

Does this help?

If you highlight all the tracks in a list and then go to Get Info, you can put in the total number of tracks. However after that you have to number each track individually but you save yourself having to fill in two boxes per track.
Multiple Editing is good for adding artist, album, year or genre information etc for a whole list as well.
