Hmm, maybe it is protected to stop people ripping them?
I tried using handbrake it only ripped a little clip from the previews am i using it wrong?
If this is not what you wanted to rip and there more more titles available, then I would conclude that you are using it incorrectly. Try checking the "still" where you select what scaling you want applied. If the picture is not part of the material you want, then select a different title.
it think it is because the dvd is encrypted and handbrake doesnt dycrypt
Almost all commercial DVD are copy protected and are handled by HandBrake.
I know but it only lists one title, and the duration is 2 mins and 47 seconds, something is not right here
Now that is a known problem with HandBrake. I just downloaded the v0.7 (non-beta) update but have yet to check to see if that particular problem has been correct.

Jon,
That's just what I can't do. There is only the first title to select, nothing else is available.
The dvd is Genesis "The Video Show". Normally you can select the titles from the drop down list, but in this case there isn't one. Just the first title is displayed, no others. This occurs on a couple of my other music dvds also.

Have you upgraded to release 0.7 or still using beta version? (Unfortunately, the problem you mention has been one of my pet peeves. Always seem to be missing 2-3 titles on each of my Doctor Who episodic discs.) Let me run a quickie to see if latest version can see all of the titles now....
FOLLOW-UP: Problem is still unresolved... Looks like I'll stick with Fort-Two.
Yep, just tried it myself. No joy.
Fort-Two?? What is that?

It is a combination DVD/File converter but does not rip/decrypt, so you have to use MacTheRipper (or similar application) first. Handles muxed MPEGs also. Unfortunately, it is not free -- cost is $14.99. I tend to prefer it to HandBrake since it has a full A/V preview module which allows me to ensure I have selected the correct title and audio. Believe it runs in time and/or chapter limited mode until registered, if you are interested in testing it.
Many thanks for the info. I'm glad to see Dr Who has fans in the USA. Hope you're enjoying the 'new' episodes. Good to see it back. Jon Pertwee was always my favourite.
Thanks once again for the input.

I use Mactheripper then OpenShiiva. OpenShiiva is compatible with Quicktime. From Quicktime you just convert to ipod format (painfully slow). Read the OpenShiiva Tutorial, it helps alot to know what you are doing before hand.
ripping dvds then putting them on ipod
