Moving photos around in iPhoto library?

How can I move photos around in the library without creating a separate album?

Using iPhoto (do not modify your iPhoto library using the finder or another program) you can move photos between rolls or you can use albums to create specialized sets of photos

LN,
By playing around and changing the Sort view to "Manual," I discovered that I could move the pictures in the library.

How did you get to Sort>Manual?? It is grayed out in my menu bar.

Click the little triangle beside the word Library at the top of the Source Pane (left column) until you can see the list of year-based smart albums below it. (The little calendars with "Early Photos," "2007," "2008," etc.) Be sure that all of those albums have a check in the box beside them. There should be no little x beside the word Library. Then Manual should be active in your Sort menu.
