Series of Dark Spots at the Screen Bottom

Hi all,

Just purchased my Macbook Pro 15" w/ Anti-Glare LCD screen. This is the 4th Mac I've owned over the years so I'm familiar with them. The second time I went to use it, I noticed a series of dark spots positioned horizontally at the bottom of the screen. Each one is absolutely even in shape, size and spacing and it looks as though each spot fans out into the top of the screen, gradually decreasing in intensity.

Unless a person has a white background or black background towards the bottom of the screen, it's not as visible but it is definitely there, it looks funny and I'm wondering if that's just the way it is or is this a defect?

Thanks,

-Evan

I have spots at the bottom and left side of my LCD. First appeared to look as the screen was dirty (and as mentioned by another post, only really visible on light or white background). They are not the same size. Took it to Apple Authorized repair, tech said it looked like the liquid (of LCD) was "leaking." Said he needed to send photo to Apple, Apple denied repair/replacement citing abuse / environmental (excessive heat-cold). Needless to say I am not a happy camper, my MBP is a very pampered laptop, no abuse or exposure to cold/heat extremes. Tech said this could eventually "creep" across screen. On top of that, who wants a computer with a "defective" screen? I have appealed to Apple to reconsider their denial; will post here when I hear back.

The exactly same thing has just happened to me from my recent purchased MBP (2 months ago). I often see the very noticeable uneven waves. I'm wondering how you fix this problem. By contacting Apple care? or Complaining to the customer center? Since this is my first purchase of MBP, I don't know what I should do. Thank you for your help in advance.

Applecare contacted me and reviewed my case and decided to replace the LCD. I received the mail-in box 10/29 sent it out 10/30 and according to the "status" repairs have been done on 10/31; so I should receive my MBP back next week.

The person who posted after my first post, with the link to the photo of their LCD...I'm no expert but your LCD looks like it may have a backlight problem. But, that would be (IMHO) a defective LCD. I would contact your nearest Apple Repair for diagnosis/repair.
