recovering files from guest account

recovering files from guest account

Is there any way that files stored in the documents folder on a guest account can be recovered?!? Having logged out of the guest account, we lost our vacation pictures. Any chance to retrieve them? Please, help....

Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Welcome to Discussions!

Stop using the mac immediately to reduce the chance of the files being overwritten, and look into a program like File Salvage or Data Rescue.

no. the ONLY chance (which is not guaranteed to work) is to use data recovery software like [Data Rescue II|http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php] or [FileSalvage|http://subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/index.php?mainpage=product_info&productsid=1]. if you use them, do it ASAP before that data gets overwritten.

Thanks for your advise! I managed to recover a few photographs - but, unfortunately, most of the files are corrupted.

I'm confused . I thought the reason for a guest account is to delete everything when you log out.
I use it to try out software demos before I put them on my main account.
