streaming video problems: keeps buffering

When I watch video from certain websites, like the daily show where I frequently attempt to do this, every 10 seconds or so the video freezes for about 10-20 seconds to buffer. (This generally does not happen on youtube). I've tried Safari, Firefox, and also in Parallels with Internet Explorer. They all do the same thing. Does anyone know of a way to fix this? Or is it a problem on the daily show website rather than something that can be adjusted on my computer?

Yes, I am having serious problems with this site (and its sister site www.colbertnation.com). My problems is a little bit different though.
I can repeat the errors several times and here is how to do it:

1. visit www.thedailyshow.com and click to view a full episode with either Firefox or Safari
2. in the middle of an episode, click on another episode in the episode picker or choose to click on Colbert Report.

80% of the time, either Firefox or Safari will freeze. If you are not quick enough to terminate the web browser with Command-Option-Escape, the cpu will fail to respond and you are forced to restart the computer.

These two sites are the only two that I have this problem with. It started in September and I never had any problems before.

I am having the same problems (dailyshow and colbert report) with my new unibody macbook (both in safari and firefox). I've also had some problems streaming from NBC's site -- but not hulu lately... With the ram and processor speed, I assume (deeply hope) its not a problem with the hardware. I have the newest flash so is there something I do in settings or something. Help.

No problems here in Australia with this site on any of our six current Macs (variously running Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard and running over airport to an ADSL net connection), lingualect .

It is next to impossible to diagnose these sorts of issues in situations where we have no idea what country you are based in (and therefore what local internet infrastructure issues may be involved), what sort of local network is involved, what sort of connection you have to the net, etc etc. Your problem may lie with your own Mac set-up, but it is at least equally likely to be due to problems with your own network, your ISP, or even an international data transmission issue.

Until you provide some more substantial information about all of the above all we would be doing is guessing.

Cheers

Rod
