Temporary Admin Rights

Is there a way to grant temporary local admin rights.
My problem is I have 160 laptops setup as standard users
But went the kids take them home and try to install their
Home printer it asks for admin user and password.
Or is there a way to allow standard user permissions to install
software?

Modify the file /private/etc/authorization so that all accounts have the right requested by the dialog that asks for the password. This file is plain text, but needs to be edited with an application that runs as root or allows authentication to root, such as TextWrangler.

Thanks Niel

I used terminal and nano to open authorization. There is alot of stuff
in the file not sure want to change.
The format is
<key>class</key>
<string>user</string>
<key>comment/key>
Also
<key>authenticate-user</key>
<false/>
<key>class</key>
<string>user</string>
Did find something about acquired credential.
Not sure how that work.

Look through the file for the requested right, find the group entry, and change the 'admin' text on the line following it to the name of a group which that account is a member of.
