iTunes 8 - "Unknown error occurred (5002)"

I updated to iTunes 8 and Sync'd my iPhone G3 without any problems. I've purchased an App and synch it with the iPhone, all went smoothly -BUT- when I've attempted to update some Apps from within iTunes, I got the following message "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (5002)". I've tried last night and all day today and get the same message. Anybody having the same issue?

MacBook Pro 17 in., iPhone G3, Apple TV, Time Capsule, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Wow! That worked! I had one program that had the generic icon out of about 100, deleted it and everything works again. Thanks! Why can't Apple give such easy fixes. I have also noticed something else; the updates now replace the old app files and now show version number, one less thing I need to do now.

I think iTunes somehow loses track of some of the apps. They are still on the hard drive inside the iTunes>Mobile Applications folder. But the link to iTunes got disconnected.

Once you find the offending app, you don't have to delete it. Just select the item then "Get Info". iTunes will complain that "it cannot be found, do you want to find it?" Click "yes" then point it to the copy in your iTunes>Mobile Applications folder. This way, all your downloaded apps are accounted for within iTunes and you don't have to re-download them.

I also found that in some rare circumstances the icon of the offending app is correct, ie, not generic. It's easy but tedious to hunt them down: I select "Get Info" on the first app. Once the info window opens, I click on "Next" on the bottom until I come across one that has no info in the window. Then I close that and do "Get Info" on that app to make iTunes reconnect to the file. When they are all cleaned out, the 5002 error disappears. Hope this helps!

I have no generic icons, and after clicking on info for each of m apps in iTunes, I don't get an error that it can't be found. Yet, I'm still getting this error (5002) message. I have 17 apps that need to be updated but I can't update them either from iTunes or from my iPhone. When I try from the iPhone, it gives me a login error, though my login info is correct.
