'Preparing Shipment'--means what??

'Preparing Shipment'--means what??

I checked my order status a few minutes ago, and it says 'Preparing Shipment'. I know what this means, but how long is it between preparing the shipment, and actually shipping my iPod?

Mine was preparing shipment for a week - it then took 4 days to get to me in the UK.

My confirmation says "Allow 7 days to build your order, Allow 3 - 7 business days for delivery". Not sure if that helps, but it could be a week or so yet....
I ordered mine on Friday over the phone, the same day as Nathan, so would be interesting how phone/web delivery times differ. BTW, mine is being engraved, so could take longer.

Hey Simon,

I did order one on Friday, but cancelled becuase some information was wrong.
I re-ordered Sunday. Either way, Apple couldnt process until Monday morning.

Engraving will most likely take a little longer, but will be interesting to see how much longer. I know with my nano, it arrived the day after Apple shipped it.

Hi Nathan,

I just phoned Apple, to check my order status, and it is already on its way from Shanghai, and should be in Ramsgate soon. Quite amazing speed for a 60G Black with engraving, only ordered on Friday afternoon, less than 2 business days later!!! Yours shouldn't be too far behind.....

Nathan,

My status within the Apple store website does not show anything (does not exist), hence my call today to find out when I would be able to start tracking it. The chap from the store told me it had already been shipped and gave me a TNT reference number. Via the tnt.com website, it shows that it has shipped from originating depot! Try giving Apple a call, to see if you have a TNT number yet.

Its shipped! TNT have no information yet until tomorrow morning, but they do know its coming from Shanghai.

Yep. Its almost 7.30pm in Shanghai, so maybe an overnight to Europe. I have read on a forum, that they come to Luxembourg before reaching the UK 😐

Oh and the tracking number that Apple provided me on my order page works. Click this and it gives you some badly designed page with a number that doesnet even work!

I called TNT this morning and they said its still in Shanghai, but should be delivered on October 31st. Which i guess i cant complain about as it wasn't expected to ship until the 31st, and wasn't due to arrive until up to November 7th.

In theroy, a week early =)
And im not in school on Monday....i can wait in all day for that big orange truck.

I chased TNT yesterday afternoon, and they said the same. Mine should also be delivered on the 31st, as there will be a delay with customs etc. Having said that, several people have experienced TNT delivering earlier than predicted, we will see.....
