'Preparing Shipment'--means what??

I checked my order status a few minutes ago, and it says 'Preparing Shipment'. I know what this means, but how long is it between preparing the shipment, and actually shipping my iPod?

I do hope that it comes earlier. I just wish that in the UK we had the option of 2 day delivery like in the US.

I also realized why my nano came 2 days after ordering....it was coming from Nuneaton in the West Midlands!! Not quite as exotic as Shanghai.

On the last 3 items I ordered from the Applestore, once the status changed from processing order to preparing shipment, the items went out to shipping in 1 day. Right now, my iMac G5 just went to preparing shipment. Hopefully it will ship today.

Nathan, looks like it could be sooner. Latest status is in Amsterdam, but has 'potential connection delay'. So far, Friday 21st order placed pm, and Wednesday already in Amsterdam.

It took 3 days for mine to finish "preparing shipment" and then I got it in 5 days from Shanghai to Southern Mississippi. I was impressed.

I just checked my staus again, and its still in Shanghai. The odd thing. The first update said it was in Shanghai and the time was 5pm. The second update said the time was 2pm.

Do the new iPods come with time travel??
