Its too early to tell whats really different, altough the locate me (maps) seems to work a lot faster now, more reliable.

The flip to horizontal in safari is still not very smooth and delayed.

Reading the update info, I take it they just changed how the signal bar displays, so who knows how good the connection really is.

Anybody recommend the most accurate app for testing 3g network speed..

As for genius playlist creation, is that done first in itunes, then sync'ed to the iphone ?

Oh and backup is definatly a lot faster !

Ignore that one, after first syn, genius is now available on the playlist screen

I just downloaded the 2.1 update for my iPhone 3G. First off, the signal strength went from 1-bar or no-bar before the update, to FIVE bars of 3G signal after the update. That's in the same position, same location, nothing else a factor.

Denver here. Just downloaded and installed 2.1. Reports of the BARS reading higher are confirmed, at least from my observation. My work location was showing barely one bar with a dbm in the -100s. Dbms have not changed, but bars now THREE. Interesting! I also am seeing a faster switch between E and 3G. Will try some calls and see if I can now receive inbound calls at this location. Before, things would go to VM about 70% of the time.

all these new stuff can be done through a Bug fix 2.0.x instead all of this big 2.1
what should be counted under 2.1 is the Genius Playlist, Data Wipe & SMS Notification thing, *JUST AS WHAT WE ASKED FOR*

i really don't see a point in this new Software, i consider it a Bug Fix ONLY

a little cuestion, my iTouch has 2.0 , and I have the message that a upgrade its available, i hit hte button, but I receive a message that says that I can not connect to the server
