iPod Touch 2G skipping on Apple Lossless files 2.1.1 software

i'm sorry if this is a little off tangent, but 2.1.1?
has that been released? this isn't the first thread thats mentioned 2.1.1 but when i click on "check for update" it says 2.1 is the current version.

multiple typos from multiple users or am i missing something?

That's strange that you can't see the upgrade. For
me, when I connected my ipod to my computer for first time, iTunes noticed me about the ipod software upgraxe, for the version 2.1.1. I have no idea why can't you see the upgrade.

But is this error for sure a software bug, or all of our iPods here has the same hardware error? Please someone write here something about this topic!

And you have the newest 2.1.1 version software on your iPod Touch?

Ive sent my touch 2g back and got a refund. I wouldnt be surprised if every new touch has the same problem but I wont be buying another ipod until this is fixed.

But if this is a hardware error in every ipod touch, than apple will publicate this, and take back all the ipods.

Not sure what "publicate" means, but when in recorded history is there an instance of Apple "taking back all ipods"? Even the notorious scratch prone Nanos stayed on the market until Apple released the 2G Nano which had a different case (aluminum) and more durable screen. I'm not aware of Apple giving 1G Nano owners free 2G units, are you?

No I'm not. All I want is to know that is this a hardware, or a software error. Because if I would know that it's just a software bug, than I would wait until a software upgrade, but if it's hardware error, than I send it back to the store where I bought it.

I haven't seen anyone put forth a viable argument excluding the hardware, but I'm going to be cautiously optimistic that the fix will be forthcoming in a software update. It's not really a deal breaker for me, as when I manually turn off the wifi, to turn it back on with the on/off/on again method, the increased time to do that is less than 15 seconds, compared to going to settings/wifi/on/home. If I leave wifi on when I turn off the Touch (we have 2 of them and they both work the same way), the next time the Touch is turned on, it connects automatically, every time. So for me, the issue is rather minor.

This topic is about the Apple Lossless skipping problem and not the wi-fi connecting problem.

2 iPod touch 16 g same problem... wondering if I should return or wait for patch. Skips are random and when rewound, doesn't skip at the same place. Hope its not hardware. What are you guys thinking?
