iPod Touch 2G skipping on Apple Lossless files 2.1.1 software
Hello all..
Has anyone seen any issues with the new iPod touch skipping while just playing lossless files? Try to sync a couple and listen to the whole song. I am just wondering if mine is defective or just has a software bug. Thanks in advance!
I recently purchased a new 8BG iPod touch second generation. I am experiencing the same exact problem. Random skips in the middle of songs, but only on lossless files. I even restored the iPod once to try that but it didn't work. I really hope that this is some sort of software glitch and not hardware. I'm ready to take the darn thing back and get the classic.
Anyone else experiencing this or know of any fixes?
I bought a new 32gb 2nd gen Touch yesterday and Im having the same problem as are about a dozen people on another forum. One of them is having the problem with an Itunes plus album he downloaded.
*Encoding Imported Music*

I'm having the same problem as everyone. I just put a couple albums in the Apple Lossless format on my 32gb touch and I purchased it September 25th. I noticed random skips in the lossless songs and I thought It was the CD itself. So I played the same song from my CD on the computer, no skip; played it on itunes player in the lossless format, no skip; But I played the lossless on my touch and it had a the ramdom skips on the song. Now I know it had to be the touch itself. I tried doing a hard reset. Did not work. I then restored the touch to it's factory setting and I had to put my songs all back on the touch since it erases it. Played the lossless album and STILL RANDOM SKIPS IN THE LOSSESS SONGS!!! Please Please apple fix this problem!!!
If anyone else has the same problem and or finds a way to fix it PLEASE LET US KNOW!! Otherwise, Apple please get on this problem; I would greatly like to enjoy my music on a $400 product that shouldn't be having these kinda small problems.
I got my 2nd generation touch on tuesday, and I have also noticed this error. First time when it did this, I didn't deal with it, but when I noticed this at every lossless file playback, I become really annoyed, and I didn't know what can that be. I wanted to take it back to the shop where I bought it, but I found this forum, and I am very "glad" to see that other people are also having this error. This error is very bad for me, because most of the tracks on my iPod are in lossless format, imported from audio cds. I hope apple will nearly publicate a software upgrade to avoid this error. But I am happy to see that it's not hardware error, so I don't need to take it back to the apple store.
