Disable coverflow on iPod

where they perennially reinvent things that worked well enough before into something that does not work and then have no answer or support for the problem?

agree, when I am listening to an audiobook, I want to be able to adjust the volume without fighting my way back to it,how obvious is that... who sits and looks at the screen?
The cover flow jumps on every time I move, is that not a big waste of battery?

*coverflow now has an option to be disabled. update the new software next time you plug in your 4G ipod. it is under settings>general>>rotate>off.*

I like the ipod a lot, I have some young clients who are really absorbed with theirs and I'm understanding why...

Now, if they can fix the problem with not being able to "eject" without turning my computer off and the problem with not burning with some DVD drives
(inc mine)...
it will work even better!

2 Questions:

Can I only make this change from the iTunes software on my machine?
Will this turn off the accelerometer completely, or only cover flow?

i.e. To kill the feature that destroys usability (cover flow), do I have to kill another feature that is usefel (landscape setting for video)?

1) Yes, via iTunes.

2) No. It doesn't kill the accelerometer. Just lets you turn off the coverflow when tilted.

Great that apple listens to it's customers. Gonna download the update immediately.
