Itunes will only play one song at a time

For some reason my itunes player is playing only one song at a time. When the song ends it doesn't go on to another song. This happens no matter the setting...shuffle, playlist, etc. I am using 8.0 with OSX 10.5. I upgraded to 8.0 and have had no issues until this morning.

IMac-Intel, Mac OS X (10.5.4), Itunes 8.0

Just wanted to throw my two cents in on this one as well. Came looking for an answer and haven't found one yet. The "make sure your songs have the check mark" is not the fix - all my songs have the check mark. I just tried the "turn shuffle off, advance a song, restart shuffle" and it didn't help.

Apple - are you listening - we need a fix to this.

Hi,

The combo update might have left the previous iTunes preference file on the disk. Quit iTunes.

/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag this file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop:
com.apple.iTunes.plist Launch iTunes and see if iTunes plays your tracks as it should. If it does, it means that preference file is corrupted. Drag it to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. The next time you launch iTunes, your Mac will create a new pref file for you.
