my Nano altoid tin

I use a leather business card case.

I'd put in some foam under the top lid to keep it from rattling around. I'd use the Licorice tin if I thought of dong this. Sometimes I still manage to loose the B-card case.

Really, is everyone asleep here? You just paid howevermuch for your nano and (we) need to be creative ? (WE) paid for them to be creative. It's kinda like paying for a meal that you didn't like and said to the chef that it's ok I'll cook it myself and can I have the check. Hello!

I can see your point but this has always been the Apple way. Full service isn't part of the agenda. So, if you've got a Nano they've been plenty creative.

Past that it's up to everyone else. That's why there are sooo many 3rd party products. But if you wait for someone else to be creative for you, your gonna spend a lot to not use your own creativity.

I liked this years SIGGRAPH caption: "bring your brain".

This is like putting plastic baggies around expensive shoes that have soles that wear out instantly if they touch the ground!

I could't agree with you more! Really, I think north americans are half asleep today!!! Wakey wakey! Perhaps this is a good indicator as to the fact that people are just a bunch of spineless followers. Passively accepting this huge disaster. Think of it as also an enviromental problem as well, due to the fact that people will be ditching these even faster than previuos models.

That ALtoid case is absolutely great! I am using a business card case that I attached a clip to. I don't mind protecting my iPod myself.

I think the Altoids case idea is kind of fun. It's inexpensive and accessable. It's a sign of resourcefulness, to come up with that idea. It also could be a safety measure--carrying around an Altoids tin isn't going to attract the attention of would-be iPod thieves.

Not everyone wants a solution created for them. Some of us like to "do it ourselves" and derive pleasure and pride from doing so.
