Flyer Templates

New to Apples. Looking at the "Flyer" templates in pages I was wondering how you Auto Fill the text boxes in the Tear off tabs. There must be a way to type in the information once and have it automatically duplicate itself in all the other text box tabs.

I suspect that in the Template, someone produced the first Text Box, rotated it 90 deg. and then made multiple copies of the first box.

Takes only slightly more time to do it than to say it. Note that the Antique Typewriter template, for instance, uses a Merge Field to fill-in the telephone number of the author.

Not sure what a Merge Field is. I searched under help and no topics were found. I understand how to create the test boxes and add each one repetitively, I can also use their template and type in the data, copy and paste the field in each tear off tab/text box. I was just looking for a cleaner way to write it once and have it duplicate itself. There should be a way.

It's really funny.

When I enter merge field in the search area in the Help page, I get seven entries corresponding to what Jerrold are writing about.

I looked at a flyer template with tear-off (it would be useful to give the template's name when you ask about such an item). It was the "Lost and Found" one.

Jerrold was perfectly right.
They created an horizontal box,
rotate it for 90° then replicate it nine times.

Well, thank goodness, things don't go around duplicating themselves. This earth is overcrowded as it is. On second thought, I guess some things do. But, I digress.

A Merge Field is a block of text that has been converted to a link to the Address Book through the use of the Link Inspector. This particular link was produced in the original Text Box and then copied 9 times. The reference that Yvan gave you will describe the process.

This is as clean as it gets, and it's pretty darn clean.
