iPhone won't operate my front door buzzer

The 2.1 upgrade fixed most of the touchtone issues, but I still cannot use my iphone to buzz someone into my apartment building. I've tried many other phones with no problem, but the iphone wont trigger it, all I need to do is push 9. Anyone else have this issue? Or better yet a solution? I'm getting tired of telling the UPS guy to try calling other people in the building to get in.

I actually live in an apartment complex that has a gated entry. Unfortunately, I can have it send the signal to my cell phone b/c it is not a local number. And we're too cheap to get a landline. The buzzer is to open the gate for people to drive into the apartment complex so we dont have to walk over to open the gate manually with the gate card.

Try disabling 3G and see if it works then.

Most 'entry' systems using mobiles are (2G) GSM at best, which may also explain why some people mention their 'entry' systems being 'basic'?

Yes, I know, you'll probably want your iPhone to work out for you when you are using an 'entry' system needing 3G disabled, but hey, ain't life a beech? (well, it sounds like that when some people say it!)

(Yes, that is 'beech' as in 'solid wooden thing to bang head against' and not 'beach' as in 'thing to relax on in the sun'!)
