Macbook Contract Uplift

Dear community,

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I was wandering about the deal you get when you purchase the Applecare Higher Education Contract Uplift (for £49) when buying a new Macbook from the UK store.

When I bought the plan I can swear that it said I get three years hardware support and three years phone support. I have just been told, however, that I only get one year of phone support, even though I have bought the plan.
If this is the case, then what is the difference between the Contract Uplift and the standard warranty that comes with the Macbook?

Many thanks for your help

I have a number of Macs bought with Contract Uplift - this is basically Applecare under another name. Buying this upgrades your warranty from the standard one year (with 90 day phone support I believe) to three years (including phone support).

Sounds like you were misinformed. Best thing to do would be to ring 0845 3780006 and check exactly what you have - they'll only need a serial number from you.
