I am having this issue after having it so under 24 hours. the apps I downloads to do work and most do require the internet. Also a playlist on my itunes does not work either. I cannot hear the sound from the speaker. the songs work just not in this particular playlist.

In short everything I have used stopped working.I tried reloading my apps they dont work. But itunes seemed to fix the other problem

OK, here's something to try that solved the problem for me.

In my case, all downloaded programs from the apps store stopped working and the trigger was syncing the Touch to the PC. Downloading another app, or deleting one and downloading it again, would fix the problem.

Here's how I fixed it:

- From iTunes, from the store menu, deauthorize the computer.
- Then, go back to the store menu and authorize the computer.

Hope this helps, it was a very frustrating problem.

I also seem to be having the same issue descibed by most in this thread.

I initially installed about 10 free apps which all worked for a day or so. Then they all stopped working, but everything else about the iPod touch works as it is supposed to. When I touch any of the app icons they start to boot for a sec and then the Touch goes back to the home screen.

I tried removing all the apps and re-installing them from the App Store and the same thing happened - - initially they all worked then stopped working the next day.

I tried resetting the Touch but that didn't help.

I'm going to phone Apple next. If this is an issue that's happening to some Touchs but not others then I want a new one.

This was happening to ours on Christmas day! We had just installed the 2.2 software (can I say that was frustrating to have to spend 10 more bucks on a software upgrade immediately?) but hadn't restarted the iPod before downloading the free apps and trying to use them. We fixed it by deleting all of the apps, restarting the iPod, then clicking "Sync all applications" under the "Applications" tab in iTunes on the computer the iPod is attached to. Then all of the applications seemed to download correctly and now they work.

Going with what he said, if this is indeed a memory issue then you should do as the other posters said and go to safari and make sure you close any windows that might be open and then to make sure you actually close safari or any other app push and hold the home button for 5 seconds and then the app will "close". I'm not sure if this will solve the problem but if it is as the poster I am replying this message to is correct that this is a memory issue I'm sure that if you use the method above,it should help. Just wanted toput in some more info because I'm experiencing his problem also. And it really freakin ***** 😀

This happened to me witin 3 hours of having my ipod touch. At first they all worked but then all of the downloaded applications ceased function. Same way as everyone else, the page of the application will open for 1-3 seconds, then just shut off and go straight back to the home page. I have restarted, deleted all apps, etc., (done it all) and the applications are still not functioning. What's up apple?

I was having the exact same problem. I bought new apps and was able to play them at first, but couldn't the next day. They would start to boot then switch back to the main screen. After reading all of these suggestions, I went to iTunes. First I clicked on my iPod, then went to Application settings. I removed all of my apps, then added them back one by one and it seems to have worked! I hope this helps!

I am very upset about this BUG!! and that is what it is. I support computer software and this is a bug. I was given a iPod touch for Christmas to replace my iPod classic I have had for years and loved. THIS BUG, almost made me go back to the classic and send this touch back to the store. Within 48 hours of use, I was getting this problem. It started after I uploaded some movies from my computer onto the iPod. This BUG needs to be looked into.

I was looking around the net and found a solution that. It said in iTunes select the iPod and there is a check box to sync the apps and songs. If it is checked, uncheck it and then re-check it. If it is unchecked, check it. Once the apps sync or re-sync with the iPod, they will start working again.

Well I was not sure, but I did it, and bang, as soon as the apps had synced with the workstation, the apps begain to work before I even up plugged it from the computer.

WHY!!!! That is insain. This better get fixed soon. I better never have to deal with this again.

Hi everyone, new poster here.... guess what same problem here, all apps working fine for 2 days then today, none working, everything else is fine. Found this occurred after I synced ipod to install an MP4 movie. Tried everything ... yes I like everyone else knows how to boot / turn off the ipods correctly, nothing worked. In the end I had to delete all the apps, and re-install them, seems ok for now but will update soon with final result. Apple better get their finger out and release a software update to clear this BUG once and for all. Spent over £280.00 for this ipod ....

I've had my ipod touch for 4 days, and this has happend *2 times* that's pretty bad. The first time all downloaded apps stopped working, the second time, most downloaded apps stopped working. Both times I fixed it by going to the app store and downloading some random free app I didn't even want and then deleting it again.

at least I know how to fix it, but 2 times in 4 days... that's pretty bad. I hope this won't keep happening...

Just come across this problem with my son's touch, which was bought yesterday. He installed some apps last night, and upto earlier today they were working, but now they are crashing to main apps screen.

They are now working again and this is what I did :

I tried to install a new free game and it said something along the lines of "only valid from a UK itunes store" (not the exact message) so I logged into Itunes store on the PC and it said something similar, it was OK on PC yesterday and nothing has been changed, anyway the message on PC then said it was redirecting me to itunes UK......so I logged in on PC once redirected and hey presto, they work again.

Hope this helps one or two of you folks out there.
