I posted in here a few days ago, because I too was having this problem. I fixed it by de-authorizing and then re-authorizing my computer. That worked. But now just a few days later it has happened again. This time though it's only some apps, including some that I've paid for. I've tried the same fix and it's not working. I tried deleting an app, or downloading a new app, and it's still not working. I'm furious now. This thing is too darn expensive for it to now work perfectly.

i feel your pain. i Spoke with the apple tech support on Wed. and the Gentleman did confirm that there has been reports of this issue. and did give me a solution "they say" that this is the solution however my apps stop working again after i did it today. he said to delete all the apps off ipod AND itunes and reinstall. but like i said my apps stop again this morning. At least there are reports of it at apple. so hopefully if they get enough ppl to call in they will dig both feet in. in reguarding to the fact that ppl are saying that theirs is working fine. It might be a hardware issue just from the lot they produced on one day and shipped. hope for the best. so if you are having this issue and reading this post please call apple tech support.

THANK YOU!!

I too had this problem, more than once. The first time I did what everyone else did, deleted all my apps and reinstalled them. This time I didn't want to do that again. I unchecked and rechecked, and for right now that has solved the problem for me.

This bug/glitch/whatever it is makes me not want to plug my iPod touch into my computer... it is very very frustrating. I hope Apple comes up with something soon.

Brand new iPod touch...same problem! I bought the iPod 5 days ago, and had my apps (functional) since, but tonight they stoped running in the same way as everybody here. The last time they worked fine my iPod went out of battery, and after the full recharge, they were not working. I tought it could have been the problem, but as I see, it seems to be at some extent a "common" problem.

I deleted only one of my four apps (the smallest one) and reinstalled it from app store on the iPod. Suddenly, all the apps were working fine again (but for how long...)

By the way, when I tried to synchronize my itunes with my ipod to restore my deleted app, itunes said i could not do it because i do not have the authorization to use the app on my computer... somebody can explain me why?

Let me add my voice to the chorus. I have the same bug as many others have reported on a brand-new 2nd Gen 32G touch. After linking to itunes and unplugging, all the apps crash back to the main screen. This Touch has only seen one computer and a fresh install of iTunes. The usual fix of deleting and reinstalling one of the apps works for me, but this kludge gets old fast.

If I hadn't spent 30 hours selecting music and arranging album art, I would have returned the unit. Shocked that Apple hasn't jumped on this, saying we realize this is not insanely great, our best people are on it and we'll have it fixed ASAP...! Otherwise, I love everything else about the Touch!

For now, my advise is to make sure your apps are working before you get out of Wifi range!

I really think it has something to do with the sync with itunes too. Tonight i sync 2 times with iTunes, and after the second sync, 1 of my 3 apps didn't work. But the 2 others were fine. So I tried to "reboot" the ipod just to see what will happen. After the reboot it was worst than before. All my apps were not working.

So, if we can figure it has something to do with the sync with itunes, I hope Apple support will figure out rapidly how to correct it.

My question is similar to yours. How do you know it ISN'T a widespread problem? "Mine works fine" isn't valid evidence for this claim. However if you do some googling and some scanning of apple forums you find versions of this thread everywhere. The problem is ongoing and apple apparently has ignored it thusfar.

I'm a new ipod touch owner and this keeps happening to me everytime I sync with itunes. I'd like to use the software I paid for.

Yep, same problem here. My apps just suddenly quit working overnight (hadn't turned off the iPod, hadn't synced, fully charged.) I deleted a bunch of apps I don't use, powered on and off several times, reset all settings...nothing. Finally I discovered that my work DOES have unlocked WiFi, was able to download a free app on my break - I had to enter both my username and password - and now all my apps work again. I'm glad that I didn't lose all the info in some of my most-used apps, but this is annoying. I think in the future, if I'm going to be somewhere for awhile where I won't have WiFi access, I'll download something just to make sure my password has been entered recently. Don't know if it'll help; I've only had the iPod Touch a week.

I have tried everything all these forums say, i none of them worked!!

I even unchecked the sync apps box and synced it to my ipod, and when i was ready, the icon for resident evil was still there and still not working!!!!! and then i synced them all back on, still not working!!!
